Ah! The West Texas weather… It can be so unpredictable, and when planning a wedding it’s always something that’s in the back of a bride’s mind. I wanted to share this wedding to show that regardless of what happens with the weather on your big day, we all know that in the end all that matters is YOU’RE MARRIED!!! And sometimes the weather can make your big day one of the most memorable to friends and family!
Here are a few words from the bride, Courtney:
“The day of the wedding was all a BLURRRR… kinda. My stomach was in knots. I felt so weird and the whole time everyone was telling me it was nerves. I chalked it up to that too… until about mid day when I started getting sick. Long story short I ended up getting a bacterial infection due to a water line break in our hometown that week haha. It was definitely not what I had envisioned. The whole day was cloudy. Everyone was running back and forth trying to decide if we needed to move the ceremony in doors. By this time all the girls were ready. We had taken pictures and were just kind of sitting around watching the rain and radar. Jodi comes in and tells us there might be a break in the rain for 10 mins!! So we got everyone together. The guest got seated. In the rain!!! They were all so great about it. I just remember my dad kept coming in the room saying everyone is having so much fun and they don’t even care it’s raining. As soon as everyone was seated, it was fast like lighting. Family was being seated. The bridesmaids and groomsmen started heading down the isle, flower girls following. Now it was mine and my dads turn. We all had umbrellas of course. But as soon as my dad and I walked out from under the porch… the rain literally stopped. *Ok I’m crying at my own words now haha.* it was so magical. Everyone started Cheering. We walked down and as soon as I was under the alter, the rain lightly started back up. This is the real blur now. Taylor and I just stared at each other the whole time haha. Haden did such a good job at the ceremony for his first one. But it was more special to be able to have a friend take on the responsibility of that. We are very lucky. We said our I do’s, kissed, all in the rain, and it was perfect.
The reception: WAS AMAZING!! One of the best comments Taylor and I have gotten is “it was the best wedding I have ever been to”. We got some many compliments on the band, food. Everyone working at the reception. It felt so good to know our guest enjoyed our wedding.”
